2006 Election Issue Papers

The VLCT 2006 Election Issue Papers are a series of six papers on issues of importance to municipalities around the state. VLCT distributes the papers to its members and to legislative candidates in an effort to educate potential legislators about these issues. The papers address Transportation, Education Funding and Property Taxes, Public Safety, Home Rule and Local Options, Property Tax Exemptions and PILOT and, finally, VLCT's Education Funding Recommentations. The papers will be issued from late summer through mid-October, and each will be placed on this page as a pdf file as it is produced. Additionally, there is a Candidate Forum Tool Kit which contains materials to help local officials hold a Candidate Forum in their city, town or village.
