The VLCT Municipal Policy, and its briefer version, the Municipal Policy Priorities, comprise statements of VLCT's legislative platform in five areas:

  • Finance, Administration, and Intergovernmental Relations [FAIR]
  • Public Safety
  • Transportation
  • Quality of Life and the Environment
  • Water Quality

VLCT members can refer to these documents as they speak with their legislators about municipal needs and concerns. For more information about the Policy development and implementation process, please email Karen Horn, Director of VLCT Public Policy and Advocacy.

If you want to propose an amendment to the Municipal Policy, please submit it on the Proposal Amendment Form below by Wednesday, September 7, 2016, so the VLCT Board will have time to consider endorsing it before the VLCT Annual Meeting on October 5, 2016. You may also offer amendments from the floor during that meeting. Voting delegates to the VLCT Annual Meeting discuss and approve VLCT’s legislative platform for the next session and elect officers and new members to the VLCT Board of Directors. Each member city and town is entitled to one member. To nominate a delegate, please submit the Voting Delegate Form below by Friday, September 23.
