Please note that registration for this event is FULL. VLCT wishes to accommodate all those interested in attending this class. We have a waiting list in case of cancellations and will also do our best to add another class to catch all that we may miss. To that end, please email jhill@vlct.org with your name, municipality, title and contact information to be added to the list or to receive information should an additional course be added. You may also use the "Register Now for This Event" option and type WAITING LIST in the comments section at the bottom. We will contact you as soon as more information becomes available.


The Selectboard Institute is an annual program that focuses on the unique roles and responsibilities of Vermont selectboard members. Designed for both newly elected and more seasoned members, the program is highly interactive and allows members to learn from each other’s experiences. In 2011, the Selectboard Institutes I and II are offered in two locations. Staff members who report to the selectboard are welcome as well.

Please note that both workshops have the same agenda for the first half of the day (through lunch). Then, starting with the Facilitated Roundtable Discussions at 1:00 p.m, each date has different topics to choose from.

Registration/Cancellation deadline is April 22. Registrations received (either by mail or on-line) after this date should include an extra $10.00 per person. (Registration/Cancellation deadline for the Selectboard Institute I on March 26 is March 18, 2011).

For a full refund, please cancel in writing by the registration deadline. Please note that, for your convenience, you may pre-register without paying. However, if you do not attend the workshop, and have not cancelled your registration in writing or via email by the deadline, you will be billed for the full cost of the workshop.

Cancellation for events, even for sickness, that comes after the deadline cannot be refunded because VLCT will have already incurred all the costs for attendance including space rental, meal guarantees and packet generation. In this case, please feel free to send an alternate attendee in your place.
