MAC has assisted local governments of all shapes and sizes with the development of effective human resource systems. Our process involves active participation from both employees and management and focuses on areas where outside involvement is particularly helpful, such as compensation plans and evaluation systems.
We also provide comprehensive assistance to municipalities involved in union negotiations, with a focus on municipalities who do not have a chief administrative officer (CAO) or where the CAO is focused on other projects. Our staff can provide a wide variety of services, including representation of management's interests, serving as the contact person between the board and the union, research, analysis, and presentation of salary and benefits data, and development and review of contract language.
Finally, MAC regularly conducts personnel searches for senior executives such as municipal managers, administrators, and department heads. Our process begins with helping the board formulate an ideal candidate profile and includes writing and placement of ads, designing the interview process, conducting reference and background checks on finalists, and managing the process from start to finish.
