Health Advocate logoThe VLCT Health Trust contracts with a company called Health Advocate to help ensure that our subscribers receive the full benefits of their health insurance coverage without losing a lot of time from their busy lives. Health Advocate is not an insurer or a medical provider, but its employees have experience in these fields. Health Advocate answers questions and helps resolve problems related to billing, covered services, treatment options, getting appointments with busy specialists, coordinating care among multiple providers, and more. If you receive health insurance through the Health Trust, then you and your spouse, dependent children, parents, and parents-in-law can call Health Advocate as often as you need at no cost to you.

For each issue, you will be assigned a Personal Health Advocate (PHA) who will begin helping you right away and see your issue through to completion. Trained advocates are available 24/7 by phoning 866-695-8622 or emailing answers@healthadvocate.com. PHAs are typically registered nurses supported by medical directors and benefits and claims specialists. They’ll help with complex conditions, find medical specialists, address eldercare issues, clarify insurance coverage, work on claims denials, help negotiate medical bills, and much more. Your PHA will cut through the red tape, talk to your doctors and insurance company, and quickly get to the heart of your issue.
