PACIF Online University

VLCT PACIF is pleased to offer its members access to a selection of online safety and human resources courses through its partnership with FirstNet Learning. The courses, which generally take from 30 minutes to an hour to complete, can be taken by members' employees at whatever time and location is convenient. If necessary, the student can even log off in the middle of a course and resume it later.

Courses are bundled into five job-based curricula: Public Works; Police, Fire, EMS; Parks & Rec; Utilities; and Admin & Office. Each curriculum includes several core courses (such as Stress Management and New Employee Orientation) and others that are specific to the job category (such as Arc Flash Awareness for Utilities and Public Works). Employees select the appropriate curriculum when they create their user account. Later, they click on that curriculum to be able to log in and access their assigned courses and completion records.

These online courses are a great supplement to in-person trainings. Please note that PACIF Online U courses can be taken on any computer that has internet access and is equipped with Flash and Java. Please contact your IT administrator to install these programs, which are available from Adobe.com and Java.com, respectively.
