The Town of Berlin is searching for a Highway Superintendent. The incumbent will retire at the end of June after several years of service to the town. We expect the start date for this position to be June 15. This is a working superintendent position that requires supervisory experience to direct the Highway staff and perform administrative and management duties. It is a 40-hour week position with mandatory overtime as conditions dictate.
The Highway Superintendent must be an organized person with excellent planning skills for both the short and long term, and experience in budgeting, record keeping and customer service. He or she must be able to professionally interact with the public and town departments. Candidates must possess a Class B CDL driver’s license with a trailer endorsement or obtain the trailer endorsement within six months. Experience operating highway equipment and construction skills are required.
