Each municipality assigns a designated employer representative (DER) who serves as the primary liaison with our drug and alcohol testing vendor, Occupational Drug Testing, Inc. (ODT) on all matters related to the operation of the FMCSA-required drug and alcohol testing program for commercial motor vehicle operators.
This important training provides the DER with information about how the program works, the types of communications that they can expect from ODT, and about drug and alcohol testing requirements in general. Issues such as hiring new drivers, accuracy of driver rosters, driver selection, communications, the collection process, and testing requirements will be addressed.
Attendance is limited to two per municipality and should include the following individuals:
- New DER's
- Alternate DER's
- Current DER's who could use a refresher
