Conflicts of interest – real or perceived – are inevitable, especially in small towns. To help elected and appointed municipal officials manage these conflicts, MAC developed a conflict of interest and ethical conduct model policy. In this session, we will summarize that model policy and touch upon the legalities and best practices for managing conflicts of interest when they arise.
Speaker: Garrett Baxter, Senior Staff Attorney, VLCT Municipal Assistance Center
