The Vermont Department of Forest, Parks & Recreation recently issued a pamphlet (click the link below) concerning the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in Vermont and their recommendations to slow its spread. (The April VLCT News features an article on this invasive pest.) The pamphlet was created for the working forest product professionals. Subsequent publications will be geared towards the general public.

Currently a statewide quarantine is in effect. This means that all ash logs and byproducts must remain within the quarantine area unless they have been treated. This includes firewood traveling across state boundaries. Local firewood deliveries cannot be made from Vermont to New Hampshire, unless the firewood has been heat treated.
