The Vermont Agency of Transportation is now accepting grant applications for the SFY 2023 Municipal Park-and-Ride Grant Program, which provides funding for improvements of small park-and-ride facilities in Vermont communities. These facilities can help reduce the number of single-occupancy vehicles on the roadway, which in turn helps to reduce vehicle pollutants and traffic congestion.

A total of $215,275 is available for this program for the 2023 state fiscal year. Applications, by email only, are due by by September 2, 2022.

  1. All municipalities are eligible applicants.
  2. Grants are for preliminary engineering and construction. Grants cannot be used for right-of-way acquisition or lease expenses.

  6. Minimum criteria:
  • Land must be currently owned by the municipality (or privately owned with a minimum 20-year lease)
  • Lot location must be on or near a State highway
  • Lot must be available for year-round use
  • Lot must provide parking spaces for 10 or more vehicles
  • Lot must be maintained by municipality
