The Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) Economic and Infrastructure Development Investment grants are due by May 10, 2019.
NBRC is a federal-state partnership that covers all of Vermont. This year, approximately $3.5 million is being allocated to the state. Infrastructure grants (transportation, waste, energy, water, telecommunications) are available for up to $500,000; non-infrastructure grants (workforce development, entrepreneurial leadership, community economic development, tourism) are up to $250,000. Counties that meet the federal “distressed” definition (NEK, Orange, and Rutland) only need a 20% match; all other counties need a 50% match.
