During the summer, scores of outdoor venues in Vermont may be vulnerable to hazardous weather such as heat, wind, thunderstorms, and floods. Hoping that the weather remains nice or that a storm misses your location is not a plan. Before the event, venue organizers and emergency managers for communities hosting these events should work together to establish an Emergency Action Plan.
The goal of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is to work with emergency managers and public safety officials to provide critical weather information when hazardous weather approaches an event. Click the link below to read a letter that provides more details.
