On the Broadbandwagon. It’s quickly becoming apparent that broadband access and connectivity will receive serious focus this legislative session. Currently, at least six percent of Vermonters lack access to basic broadband services; 26 percent of Vermonters lack broadband that meets the Federal Communication Commission’s definition of 25 Mbps (megabits per second) download/3 Mbps upload; and only 13 percent of Vermont’s business and residential addresses have broadband that meets the state’s 2024 goal of 100/100 Mbps.
