Joint Budget Advisory Committee Meeting

Members Present: PACIF President Carl Rogers (Zoom) and Member Jared Cadwell (Zoom), and VERB Board President Bill Shepeluk (in person) and Member Todd Odit (Zoom)
Others Present: VLCT staff: Seth Abbene, Joe Damiata, Ted Brady and Linda Mahns.
Agenda Item #1: Call to Order by Budget Advisory Committee Chair
PACIF President Carl Rogers called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m.
Agenda Item # 2 Additions and Deletions to the Agenda
Bill Shepeluk made the motion and Jared Cadwell seconded the acceptance of this agenda as is. The Committee voted unanimously to approve the agenda.
Agenda Item # 3 Approve the minutes of the 2021 Budget Meeting
Bill Shepeluk made a motion to approve the 8/25/21 Budget meeting draft minutes as is. Todd Odit seconded. The Committee voted unanimously to approve the minutes as presented.
Agenda Item #4: Review of 2023 Draft VLCT Budget
Ted Brady introduced this proposed budget asking Committee members to ask questions and provide advice to staff on this draft budget. Seth Abbene went into greater detail on the expense and revenue projections for 2023. Questions were asked about proposed dues increases for regular and associate members, increases to salaries, health insurance cost share with employees, copier/printing expense, board costs, and costs related to the Association Management System (AMS) implementation. A consensus was reached by the Committee that confirmed this as an acceptable budget. Staff will update the Committee about any fine tuning made to the draft budget before it is presented to the VLCT Board.
Agenda Item #4: Other Business and Adjournment
No other business came before the Committee. Bill Shepeluk made a motion to adjourn and Todd Odit seconded. The committee agreed to adjourn this meeting at 2:09 pm.
