Board of Directors Meeting
Thursday, April 9, 2020
Members Present: President Weinberger, Vice President Peter Elwell and Members Jessie Baker, Dominic Cloud, Bill Fraser, Mary Ann Goulette, Elaine Haney, Delsie Hoyt, Ken Linsley, Sandy Pinsonault, George Putnam, Charles Safford and Lucrecia Wonsor attended virtually via GoToMeeting.
Others Present: VLCT staff members Karen Horn, Abigail Friedman, Jessica Hill, Jim Burke, Elena Esteban, Joe Damiata, Lisa Goodell, Ione Minot and Maura Carroll also attended via GoToMeeting.
Agenda Item #1: Call to order by the President. Vice President Elwell opened the meeting at 12:24 p.m., welcomed all, and suggested an orderly protocol for the conduct of the meeting. President Weinberger joined the meeting at 12:26 p.m.
Agenda Item #2: Additions and Deletions to the Agenda. There were no additions or deletions to the agenda.
Agenda Item #3: Discussion of COVID-19 Activities. Members of the Board and VLCT staff discussed activities taking place in their various communities and with the VLCT organization in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. From virtual meetings to remote work forces to working with businesses and social organizations to accomplish tasks in municipalities, all are working creatively and diligently to get things done. Officials are mindful of the different needs in their communities and expressed gratitude to those helping local residents and local governments to continue to function. Karen Horn also provided a brief update about legislation being discussed in order to assist municipalities to weather the challenges brought on by the pandemic.
Agenda Item #4: Other Business. The meeting closed at 1:29 p.m. No action was taken by the Board during the meeting.
