Apply for the Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee

The Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee was established by Vermont Legislative Act 118. The committee makes recommendations on how to spend the state's share of settlement money with drug manufacturers and distribution companies over the toll caused by prescription opioids. 

The Advisory Committee shall consider:

  • the impact of the opioid crisis on communities throughout Vermont, including communities’ abatement needs and proposals for abatement strategies and responses;
  • the perspectives of and proposals from opioid use disorder prevention coalitions, recovery centers, and medication-assisted treatment providers; and 
  • the ongoing challenges of the opioid crisis on marginalized populations, including people who have a lived experience of opioid use disorder. 

Term: Members will serve four-year terms, and seven of the 16 members will be local officials appointed by VLCT. Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee Membership

Time Commitment: The Advisory Committee shall meet at least quarterly but not more than six times per calendar year.
