. . . but only by invitation!
The U.S. Treasury Department has begun the early closeout process for ARPA (SLFRF) recipients. At this stage, only recipients specifically invited by Treasury may close out their ARPA award. On September 10, 2025, approximately 100 municipalities across the country received invitations. Municipalities can begin preparing for the eventuality of this process by reviewing this checklist*.

*Please pay attention to the instructions on SAM.gov registrations in the checklist. Your municipality's SAM registration must be ACTIVE to close out your ARPA award. Take the time now to make sure your registration is active so this does not hold you up when the time comes to close out. Don't wait!
