The Vermont Municipal Clerks’ and Treasurers’ Association met at Sugarbush Resort this week, and recognized clerks and treasurers in Huntington, Strafford, and Wilmington with annual awards.

Twenty-year veteran clerk Heidi Racht of Huntington received the 2025 Clerk of the Year Award. Racht has served in various municipal roles for nearly 50 years in town.

Stafford Town Clerk and Treasurer Lisa Bragg was named 2025 Treasurer of the Year. Bragg has served the Town of Strafford since 2005, when she was appointed as Assistant Town Clerk. She was elected in 2006 to Town Clerk and Treasurer.

Wilmington’s Ethne Eldred was awarded the Assistant Town Clerk of the Year.

The two-day conference featured a keynote address and workshop by author and academic Gina Barreca, who talked about using humor effectively. Governor Phil Scott, Treasurer Mike Pieciak, and several VLCT staff members also addressed the 200 or so clerks, treasurers, and municipal officials in attendance.
