The Vision employee benefit program that VLCT offers its members will be transitioned from EyeMed to DeltaVision beginning in 2026 – for coverage effective January 1, 2027. DeltaVision is a comprehensive insured vision product offered through Northeast Delta Dental, which has partnered with EyeMed to provide this coverage.
The benefits of this change from EyeMed to DeltaVision include:
- Ease of transition: All three of our current EyeMed plans will be automatically mapped to their corresponding DeltaVision plans.
- Competitive pricing: Along with a four-year rate guarantee, this program will provide overall net savings to members and their employees.
- Nearly 12% average savings for the DeltaVision plans that correspond to our current Options 5 and 6 (the Packaged and Voluntary Standard plans).
- Almost 7% average savings for the DeltaVision plan that corresponds to our current Option 7 (Voluntary Enhanced plan).
- The same account management for both Dental and Vision: Members that are in VLCT’s Dental program will no longer need to deal with a separate entity for our Vision program.
- Administrative ease and better invoicing:
- The same eBilling portal and paper billing format for both Dental and Vision coverage.
- The same Group Admin Portal to enroll, change, or terminate coverage for dental and vision plans.
- Lower employer-paid contributions required for the DeltaVision contributory plan: only 50% of the employee-only rate (whereas the current equivalent, EyeMed Option 5-Packaged, requires 100% payment by the employer or 100% participation by all employees).
