The application period for the 2022 Regional Communications/Dispatch Request for Proposals is now open.
The State of Vermont is seeking projects that address the development and implementation of regional dispatch/communications centers.
Currently, the Department of Public Safety is responsible for providing dispatch services to many emergency responders throughout the state. However, this model is not sustainable, and long-envisioned regional solutions are the best way to ensure a resilient communications infrastructure with a workforce being drawn from throughout the state.
For this reason, limited funding will be available to support the creation of new regional dispatch centers or broaden the capacity and capability of existing dispatch centers. This will enable an approach that balances workloads in regions throughout Vermont.

The deadline to submit an application and supporting documentation to the Homeland Security Unit office is 5 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022. To facilitate processing, email your completed grant applications and supporting documentation to DPS.HSU@vermont.gov.
