The 2025 VLCT Municipal Golf Outing raised $7,000 for the VLCT Municipal Service Scholarship Fund – the equivalent of more than three scholarships to encourage youth to serve in city, town, and village government.
Municipal officials from 13 different cities, towns, and villages competed in Killington at Vermont’s only 18-hole municipal golf course, along with sponsors, vendors, and VLCT supporters. The team from Richmond, comprised of Delina Gilroy, Chuck Gilroy, John O’Sullivan, and Mike Barnard, notched an impressive 13 under par to win the tournament. Long-time VLCT Municipal Golf Outing participants “Fore on the Fringe” – led by Tom Horn, the husband of retired VLCT Director of Advocacy Karen Horn – came close with a nine under par.
Other notable accomplishments included:
- Greg Dumont from the Kilfoyle Group team (they’ve golfed in every VLCT tournament since 2009) won longest drive – men.
- Shannon Lunderville from the Town of Essex won longest drive and closest to the pin – women.
- Aiden Brown, on the Town of Essex team, was closest to the pin – men.
- Paul Snoltz from the Town of Plainfield won the putting contest.
Participants went home with more than $3,000 worth of donated raffle prizes from our sponsors and other donors. Special thanks go to our sponsors: Great American Insurance; Travelers BoilerRe; Stitzel Page & Fletcher; Acrisure; McNeil, Leddy and Sheahan; Safety National; Community Bank; Monaghan and Safar; Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont; Rice & Riley; Northeast Delta Dental; HCA Asset Management; and Minuteman Press.
