The Vermont Intelligence Center (VIC) announces free training for recreation professionals
Protecting against, responding to, and recovering from emergencies – from natural or human causes – during sports or other large-scale events requires specialized knowledge and training. These courses focus specifically on incident management, crowd and evacuation management, crisis information management, and developing capability to operate in multi-agency collaborations.
Taking place in Williston, Vermont, across six two-day sessions from January to June, 2026, this training is targeted to personnel in campus administration/emergency management; athletic department management; campus, local and state law enforcement; local and state emergency management; local fire and emergency medical services; and large venue management/operations.
Participants will collaborate on basic concepts for planning, risk assessment, training, exercises for plans, and recovery/business continuity.
