Abby Friedman manages the Municipal Assistance Center and is therefore both directly and indirectly responsible for supporting member municipal officials with legal and research services they need for their roles and responsibilities. She joined VLCT in 2008 and has 29 years of experience delivering training, publishing resource documents, and responding to thousands of individual questions on municipal law topics.

Helping elected and appointed local officials – who often have limited time and capacity – with guidance and information about legal requirements and best practices they need to serve their citizens is Abby’s deeply held goal.
