The Municipal Assistance Center (MAC) is a team of professionals with expertise in municipal law, public administration, municipal research, human resources, and water quality protection. Our mission is to provide local officials with the guidance, training, legal assistance, and administrative support they need to fulfill their statutory duties. MAC services are supported by membership dues, grants and fee-based services.
MAC staff members respond to telephone and email inquiries from municipal officials, maintain a comprehensive online library of written resources, publish model policies and ordinances, and conduct training sessions on subjects affecting local government. The MAC team also offers fee-for-service customized assistance such as onsite training, legal drafting and review, executive recruitment, and financial and other consulting services.
